Introduction: The Big Change

The Clock struck 12! 

Suddenly the silent winter night turned lively, filled with joy and excitement. My phone beeped “Happy Birthday! Finally Legal.” Clueless as I was as to why 18 was an age to celebrate…. I went with the flow anyway after all who doesn’t like attention, having no idea that this was the celebration before doom.

     

             

The days following gave me a taste of what I had to prepare myself for. When reality slaps you hard on your face your dream bubble tends to burst and you get a clear picture of the things around you. It wasn’t all fun and games anymore. Suddenly ‘HAPPY ADULTHOOD’ seemed like a fallacy. Transformation from a happy child with a head full of dreams to a blob with no idea of where was he headed. The world just got more and more confusing, from a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in the magnanimous sea, with a ton of things that I could be. Finding the value of ‘x’ and trigonometric angles weren’t my biggest problems anymore! People told me Adolescence would be the most confusing time in my life, well those who said this are IDIOTS.

 

Adapting to this vast sea SUPPOSEDLY ‘with endless possibilities’ will always be my biggest challenge, a world where each and every action of mine would be accounted for, a world filled with predators whom I’ll have to counter, a world where hypocrisy is appreciated more than the truth, a world where lying and manipulation is no longer punishable but a way of living, lastly a world which demands altering values and morals, getting rid of the childhood innocence is the way to go. Insensitivity is in everyone’s heart, cruelty and callousness overpowering everyone’s mind. I felt like hitting my younger self with a stone for wishing to grow up fast having  false conceptions of adulthood also the freedom associated with it, FRANKLY getting to drive a car and staying up late, partying (my reasons for growing up) no way cover the misery associated with it.

Thankfully as the sides of the coin the world is twin faced, thankfully the equations always have to be balanced and thank you god for creating parents! They are like a guiding light spot in this otherwise dark sea. They’ll always believe in you no matter what, they’ll keep your faith in the world going! So no matter what always respect your parents as they are the only REAL thing in this otherwise PRETENTIOUS world. Lastly ending this post with something I believe truly in “what goes around comes around.” SO NO MATTER WHAT THIS WORLD DEMANDS, BE TRUE TO YORSELF. STAY HAPPY AND CLOSE TO YOUR ROOTS.
